What Kind of Love is This?

Ephesians 1:4
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” 

God’s love did not begin at Calvary.  In a way that our human minds cannot comprehend, God’s love for us existed before we ourselves ever did.  Before the morning stars sang together, before the world was baptized with the first light, before the first blades of tender grasses peeped out from under the soil---God was love.

Turn back the unwritten pages of countless eons before God spoke this present earth into existence, when the earth was “without form and void” and the deep, silent darkness of space stood in stark contrast to the brilliance of God’s spectacular glory.  Even then, God was love.  Before the worlds were created, He knew all about us and the need we would have someday for Christ to die for us.    

God does not change---and neither does His love.  He loved you before creation, He loved you before you were born….He loves you now….and He will love you forever.  Until we reach the end of our journey, and dwell with Him forever in Heaven above, we will never be able to grasp an understanding of how awesome God’s love for us truly is.  Only then will we come to realize:

“What Kind of Love is This”.
