Amazing Love I John 4:10 “Who can describe, or measure the love of God?” Only God can, and He does so through His Word---The Bible. The Bible is a revelation of the fact that God is love---true, unending, immeasurable and undeniable love When we reach into the Word of God, we find that His justice, is justice that is tempered with love. We see that His righteousness, it is righteousness founded on love. And we are assured that the atonement for sin, is atonement necessitated because of love, provided by love---and finished by love. When we read about the resurrection of Christ, we find the miracle of His love. When we read about the abiding presence of Christ, we are learning the power of His love. When we read and ponder the return of Christ, we are coming to know and understand the fulfillment of His love. No matter what sin we have ever committed, no matter how black, dirty, shameful, or terrible it may be, God loves us. We may be at the very gate of hell itself through our sins, but God still loves us with an everlasting, undying, uncompromising, and eternal love. The proof? Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, went to the Cross for us---and He did so freely, and willingly out of a love that is way beyond our human comprehension. He went to the Cross with a love for us that we as humans could never, no matter how hard we try, duplicate or exhibit, or know or feel, and never will. When you think of what “true love” really is----just think of the Cross. No amount of love we may think we feel, can ever compare to the love Jesus had then, has now, or ever will have for each one of us. There is a song that I listen to often that expresses the meaning and impact of God’s awesome love. It is called: “You Are My King (Amazing Love)” For those who may not be familiar with the song, here are the words: “You Are My King (Amazing Love)” I’m forgiven because You were forsaken But it is about more than just words to a song, God’s love for us is the most incredible love ever known---the “Amazing Love”of our Savior for all of us. The most quoted portion of scripture of all times says it best, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” “Amazing Love” God Bless! |
